Swivel rockers
Swivel rockers
Have my Mom's pair of swivel rockers that were about 40+ years old. I'm pretty sentimental and wanted to keep them but the fabric was so faded and nearly rotten from being in front of a bay window. This was my husband and my first upholstery project other than dining/kitchen chairs. It was certainly much more than I dreamed it would be when I began to tear it apart! Never thought there would be so many pieces! I wondered if we would be able to put Humpty Dumpty together again! So we finally finished one and then the other later. We were nervous we wouldn't get them to look the same. A bit of advice...don't procrastinate on the second piece of a pair. We could barely remember how we did the first one! Our family has been impressed that we did it and they turned out so well for our first major piece. I don't believe swivel rockers would be in the beginners category. We've had lots of compliments and the fabric is so soft. It actually has a bit of texture and is mottled in color so it looks a lot like suede. People have commented on that as well.
