Washing Instructions & Info
As a general rule, unless stated otherwise, home decorator products are recommended to be dry cleaned. This does not mean they will not wash well... It just means to wash at your own risk. If you intend to wash an item after it has been made, we strongly encourage you to test a small piece first to make sure it is suitable for washing; and if you are satisfied with the result, then proceed with washing the entire yardage. Also remember to wash the product in the same manner you will wash the project afterwards (i.e. Do not wash in a warmer temp. after your project has been made and do not dry in dryer if the initial yardage was not dried in dryer).
I purchased this fabric to make throw pillow covers. It ended up being a bit thicker and rougher than I had thought it would be. It's sort of canvasy. It was obvious this fabric was going to fray easily, so I made my covers with French seams. As a test I machine washed my finished product, delicate cycle and in cold water. Line dry. Yes,it did shrink, but for my purposes, that's ok. It didn't soften the fabric. I think that will happen over time and use.It retained it's color well. Steam pressing didn't take all the wrinkles out, but again for my purposes that's not critical. If you are making drapes, I recommend dry cleaning. This fabric would be great for small re-upholstery jobs like dining room chair seats or even stretching on a frame for a wall hanging. Excellent for tote bags, too.
Love making pillows out of this fabric!
I used this fabric as an accent for the Loni Summerland/Natural. It was perfect!
