Washing Tips

Washing Instructions & Info
As a general rule, unless stated otherwise, home decorator products are recommended to be dry cleaned. This does not mean they will not wash well... It just means to wash at your own risk. If you intend to wash an item after it has been made, we strongly encourage you to test a small piece first to make sure it is suitable for washing; and if you are satisfied with the result, then proceed with washing the entire yardage. Also remember to wash the product in the same manner you will wash the project afterwards (i.e. Do not wash in a warmer temp. after your project has been made and do not dry in dryer if the initial yardage was not dried in dryer).

Quick Tips

100% Cotton - Expect quite a bit of shrinkage and wrinkling to occur if washing 100% cotton products. And when dealing with home decor printed material, the print will sometimes fade. **We highly recommend 100% cotton materials be dry cleaned.

100% Polyester - Polyester products are normally ideal for washing. There should be little to no shrinkage or wrinkling. However, unless stated as washable, we still encourage washing a test piece first. Also, if there is a sheen to your fabric... It may diminish slightly after each wash. Please take this into consideration.

Poly/Cotton Blends - Polyester and cotton blended materials can usually be washed, however, you may experience slight shrinkage and wrinkling. The rule still applies to test a small piece, and then, if satisfied, wash the entire yardage before making your project. The shiny material rule applies here too... If there is a sheen to your fabric, it may diminish slightly after each wash. Please take this into consideration.

100% Silk - Silks can be either hand washed and air dried or dry cleaned.

Bedroom Drapes

I sewed floor to ceiling drapes from this fabric, with a 18" panel of solid pale aqua at the floor. I love the fact that it's indoor/outdoor, so it will be resistant to fading. The black background really adds drama. I also made roman blinds from the coordinating stripe, and intend to make a bedskirt as well. Loved the fabric, loved the service. The fabric came on a roll, so not even a bit wrinkled, and cut perfectly.

100% Spun Polyester is a Material Offering a Soft Canvas Fabric Feel. Treated for Soil and Stain Resistance. Easy Care, Open Weave Construction Stays Cool and Comfortable.

• Water repellant
• NOT fade resistant, but will provide adequate wear in normal weather conditions
• Fabric items should be removed from exposure to direct sunlight and elements when not in use
• Even when using outdoor fabrics, the darker the color, the faster the fabric will fade
• Keep fabric clean - Remove dirt and other particles before they have a chance to sink in and mildew

Cleaning Instructions:
This fabric should be cleaned regularly. Brush off any loose dirt and wash with a mild soap and lukewarm water solution. Rinse thouroughly to remove soap. Allow fabric to air dry.

For removable cushion covers, fabric is machine washable in a cold water setting. Allow fabric to air dry.

For stubborn stains, use a fabric spot remover. Follow the directions on the container and always test for color fastness. Rinse thouroughly with clean water and air dry.

**The use of bleach is not recommended**
