June 2012

Our hard-working employees are getting a much-needed break and some time to spend the upcoming Independence Day holiday with their families.

We will be closed from Saturday, June 30, through Sunday, July 8. We will reopen on Monday, July 9.

You can still browse and shop online; orders will be filled when we return!

Have a wonderful July 4!

When I’m at the office, I FREEEEEZE. I have no idea why it has to feel like a meat locker in there, but my secret weapon is a heating pad I attach to my chair. I get the warmth and it doesn’t bother any of the lunatics around me who actually aren’t cold. But if you don’t actually attach it to your chair then it will fall every time you bend over or get up. The one at left is the back side of a project I just did.
Here’s an example of things gone wrong. This is the back side. I’m going to take you through this by doing one side at a time. That’s how you get it nice and neat.<——– This is what you get if you wrap it around all the way around and pin and sew the whole thing at once. Messy! Potential for disaster! Coffee cup cozy

It’s 90 degrees out! Don’t you crave a piping-hot cup of tea or coffee? No? OK, perhaps you should file this one away under “projects for the fall/winter.” But, I know that some of you are addicted to your coffee and drink it year-round, and so you might like to whip up a little cozy for your cup. As a matter of fact, I’m drinking hot tea right now since it’s always about 50 degrees in my office. Read the rest of this entry »
