Let’s make a square table cloth!
During this blog, I will demonstrate how to make this beautiful square table cloth for my round table.
SUPPLIES NEEDED:
For this square table topper I used approximately 1 and 1/8 yards of both Silk Road apple green and Ivory Econo Lining.
PROCEDURE:
Last week I made a gorgeous round table cloth for an accent table and I thought I would complete the look with a square table topper. First step in creating this table topper was to decide what size I wanted the finished product.
I decided to make my topper 36″ square. To achieve this I cut my lining fabric 37″ square and then my printed fabric 37″ square also.
Next with face sides of the fabric together start sewing around the perimeter with a half inch seam allowance, making sure to leave a six inch gap between the start and finish.
Clip each corner as shown in the photo. This helps to eliminate bulk at the corners.
Now, using the six inch gap that you left earlier while sewing the perimeter, pull the fabric right sides out.
Last step is to finish the edge where the gap is located. I just sewed as close to the edge as possible.
Once you have finished sewing, take the time to press the finished table topper and you are done!! Now you know how to make a square table topper.
Happy sewing until next time!!
