Let's make a table cloth for a round accent table!

During this blog, I will demonstrate how to make a floor length round table cloth for an accent table.

SUPPLIES NEEDED:

I used approximately six yards of Petal Pusher Rose and almost nine yards of half inch cotton piping.

PROCEDURE:

First step in creating this round table cloth was to measure the height of the table plus the width of the table. My table measures 30.5″ high plus 19″ across the table top, so I have a measurement of 30.5 plus 19 plus 30.5 which is a total of 80 inches.

Next I cut one piece of fabric 81 inches which will allow for either a hem or a seam for adding piping.

You will then take your 81″ piece of fabric and lay it on top of the remaining fabric and match the print ( which is also known as the fabric repeat). Once you have the fabric design aligned then cut a second piece at 81″ also.

Take the second piece of fabric and fold it in half lengthwise and cut it in half. This will leave you with (2) 27″ wide by 81″ long pieces of fabric.

Now take the selvage sides of each 27″ piece of fabric and match it up to a selvage of the 54″ wide fabric making sure to match the print on the fabric.

Pin together and sew at the selvage sides.

Once you have sewn the sides together then fold the fabric matching the seams where you have sewn the small pieces to the larger piece, then fold one more time. Using a long ruler measure from the center folded point out 40.5″ and mark as shown in the photo.
