Let’s recover to bar stool!

  During this blog,  I will demonstrate how to make a new cover for this bar stool.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

SUPPLIES:

 

 

 

I used approximately a half of a yard of Tiffany Vapor  to recover this stool plus a piece of elastic.

 

 

 

PROCEDURE:

 

 

The first step in giving this stool a make over was to remove the existing cover and take out all of the seams.

 

  Next, place the pieces of the old cover onto the new fabric and cut out the pieces.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Now, on the narrow strip of fabric apply the elastic. I used the zig zag stitch on my sewing machine and pulled the elastic tight. Sew this to the entire length of the narrow strip of fabric.

 

 

 

 

 

 

  Next, take the strip of fabric and sew the two ends together with the face of the fabric together.

 

 

 

 

 

 

  Now take the strip you have just sewn together and pin it to the round piece which will be the top. Leave the elastic side unpinned. Sew the two pieces together.

 

 

 

 

 

 

  Once you have it sewn together turn it right side out and place it on your bar stool.

 

 

 

 

 

 

  With a fresh coat of paint and the new cover it looks brand new!
